The Concord Memorial
Our newest generation of Concord models are manufactured with a 100% granite exterior and interior. Each niche is secured with a Key locking, powder coated aluminum security door. The Concord columbarium has a double size granite shutter that is designed to cover both the top and bottom niches.
The Single Sided Concord is an excellent design option for hillside applications where slanted granite niches can be installed to accommodate landscape elevation changes. In larger more open space applications, our Double Sided Concord Model may be the preferred design for areas where lower site lines are more desirable. We offer two Double Sided Concord options: the Double Sided Concord with a planter insert in the center, or the Double Sided Concord with a flat roof.
We have the design capability to customize the niche configuration, layout and granite colors to employ the Concord columbarium features. Granite end posts and sculptured granite finials can be added to provide more architectural elements. As a custom manufacturer, Sunset is able to create any sculptural shape or finial desired for the end posts and decorative features. Sunset has created our Ascension line of niches to help cemeteries transform the bottom row into highly sought after niches. By angling the front face of the niche door and increasing the interior niche size, we have created demand for the least desirable niche.
The niches can be marketed as individual niches, or the interior divider wall can be removed to create one oversized family style niche with space for 4, 6 or even 8 urns.
Standard features for all of Sunset’s curved columbaria are a 100% granite exterior (lifetime warranty on the granite), highlighted by our key-locked interior aluminum door for added security and ease of use by cemetery staff.
Interior-niche designs use either our all-aluminum, powder-coated interior or our nylene interior-niche system.

Today many people are choosing cremation instead of having traditional burials. Cemeteries across North America have created special gardens for people to scatter cremated remains (also called ashes). These gardens are called scattering gardens.
When people want to scatter cremated remains, they can choose scattering gardens, natural settings (e.g., park, mountain), designated land, or bodies of water. Where they can scatter ashes depends on the laws for that certain area.

Sunset’s Family Heritage Model is a family memorial that holds cremated remains for a family (or families). It’s an above ground, outdoor structure with small niches that hold cremated remains. This family memorial is compact and efficient. It can hold up to 12 urns making it the perfect resting place for many generations of family members.
We can help design a family columbarium that will reflect your personal tastes and spiritual customs and beliefs. You can choose the size, style, and any other features you want. We work closely with cemeteries to make sure that your design will follow their standards and guidelines.

Sunset is the first in the world to create standing granite shutters for our cremation monuments. These shutters help prevent condensation in the niches when different materials come in contact with one another.

At Sunset, our cremation monuments have inner security doors that lock with a key. This feature gives people extra piece of mind since many columbaria are in unmonitored cemeteries. It also helps lower security costs when granite doors need to be removed to be engraved.
