At Sunset, our engineering advantages are what sets us apart.
- We don’t depend on the wall for rigidity. Sunset glass niches are designed to be free standing with periodic safety connections to the wall. This design enables lower cost island configurations.
- We have the engineering skillset to address seismic conditions.
- We can provide more load bearing capacity within our interstitial niche space. This design feature allows us to create an all-glass corner niche without a support post creating a slick more modern “floating” appearance.
- Our strip lighting location is set in a more central location of the niche to better highlight the urn.
For cemeteries and churches that already have existing mausoleum niches or interior rooms, we have the “in-house” manufacturing and design flexibility to compliment any existing style.

Curved glass front niches
Sunset has the capability to offer potential and existing clients: marketing tools such as a revenue schedule, color renderings, future room layouts.
You will be guided through the planning phase by a sales team that has over 46 years of industry experience. Our sales team will be able to assist you with planning multiphase projects.
Sunset’s design team works collaboratively with our clients to create an exciting, customized interior niche space that is sure to please. Custom crosses, sculptures, graphic artwork details, alcoves and family niche options are just a few of the many exciting additions we can create.
45° Corner Glass Niches
Open the corner space for more marketability.
Our angled corner glass niches are becoming a feature niche where two right angled walls can meet.
This niche application is used to open up corner spaces to become more marketable. These niches are employed at the intersection of 2 perpendicular cremation niche walls. Traditionally, inner corner niches were considered an undesirable location for viewing due to the close proximity of surrounding niches.
The 45° corner glass front niche solves this problem, therefore becoming a premium space that is more marketable and preferred by families.
90° Corner Glass Niches
Enhance the view with a second sightline.
These glass niches are designed as a feature niche on the end of a flat wall or island niche unit. The corner glass front niches allow for greater visibility of the urns from 2 directions. The corner glass niches allow more natural light to enter the niche and illuminate the urns. It is a desirable niche for showcasing personal memorabilia. This is a highly marketable interior niche feature.
90° Curved Corner Glass Niches
Soften a sharp corner with a curve.
Our curved glass corner niche feature is perfect for client’s who are interested in softening a 90° end niche wall. This curved corner glass front niche column is a value-added design feature that provides families with multiple viewing angles.
Curved glass niches obviously come at an added cost; however, we have found not only does the curved glass add to the aesthetic uniqueness of a niche wall, but families see the value in paying a premium for these feature niches.
180° Curved Glass Niches
Increase your revenue with a stunning curved glass niche.
Add interest to a long straight niche wall by adding columns of graceful, curved glass niches. Sunset Memorial & Stone designs and manufactures exquisite 180° curved glass front niches. This design feature is becoming very popular with clients as families appreciate their beauty and are willing to pay a premium for this prominent style.
Pyramidal Glass Niches
Make a statement. Make a point.
To add aesthetic interest to a long wall consider breaking up the wall with prominent columns of pyramidal glass. This design feature is wonderful for showcasing a single urn.
Island Glass Niches
Running out of niche inventory in a building?
Sunset Memorial & Stone has a solution.
The use of island niches creates new revenue in newer rooms or older buildings. Consider an island glass front niche unit in the center of any room. It is the perfect product to sell more inventory within an existing sold-out space. Add interest to the empty sections of a chapel, or mausoleum while providing families with an option to be interred closer to a loved one.
Marble or Granite Front Shutters
Provide privacy and create continuity in a room.
Some indoor columbarium niche spaces are better suited to the privacy of granite or marble niche shutters. Sunset has the design capability to build our niche doors using a variety of marble, stone, or granite options.
Finishes and Trims
Ask about our wide variety of trim selection.
Granite wood, marble, aluminum we can customize to complement existing trim within your space. Kickplate (bottom trim), cornice (top trim) and side walls. Let us help you figure out how to create the best look for finishing that will meet your budget.

Niche Sizes Layouts
We understand that your families have diverse economic needs. Let us help you design an interior cremation niche layout with more mixed niche inventory to provide diverse options for your customers. Third, fourth, and fifth level niches are premium levels that could be 14” high to accommodate larger urns.

Frequently Asked Questions
At Sunset, our engineering focus is based on the concept that the columbarium must not rely on the wall’s rigidity. Our interior glass niches are designed to be a free-standing structure that is periodically connected with safety connections to the wall. The frames’ core strength takes advantage of the interstitial niche space which allows us to add sleek corner glass features that do not require a corner support post. A Sunset glass niche columbarium can also be engineered to address seismic conditions. We have an innovative strip lighting that can illuminate: the front, centre, or back of the glass niche. This allows us to either compliment an existing lighting layout or provide beautiful illumination of an urn.
Before we can begin providing you with an interior niche price, there are a few things that our designers and engineers require. First, we require either architectural drawings (if available) or hand drawn measurements of the room. We will need to know the size of the room, the walls’ length, width, height, and depth of space in front available. We will also need to know: the measurements of the doorway entrance, the access sizes of stairways and elevators. Secondly, we appreciate receiving photography of the room, entrance, and existing glass niche walls as this help us to better imagine the space and provide you with complimentary design options. Once we have received these documents, measurements or images, our engineers can then begin the drawing process to create glass niche layout options for your review. Once you have approved a design concept, we will then be able to provide you with an interior niche quote that will include both shipping and installation.

However, we understand that some families prefer a taller, more elaborate urn for their loved one.
