Columbarium & Monument Bases

When creating a memorial, bases are often overlooked or simply seen as a necessary feature; however, they protect your monument and visually play a key role in the overall feel and aesthetics of a design.

The primary role for the base is to elevate a monument protecting it from debris that can be ejected from maintenance equipment. We often find chips and scratches on monuments for this reason; the extra height helps to avoid a situation where repairs must be made.

Just as the monuments themselves, bases come in all shapes, sizes and styles, which may be customized to your specific needs and preferences. On some base models, custom art, a family name, an epitaph or other details may be added to them. Even a slight tweaking of a more traditional base design, such as swapping a Stanstead grey base to one of a different colour, could make all the difference in your loved one’s memorial.
