Columbarium Gardens A Beautiful Resting Place
A garden suite is a unique way to feature many interment and memorial options in a family-scaled garden setting.
What’s a family garden suite or family columbarium garden?
A garden suite is a separate cemetery section designed for families. It can include:
- traditional upright marker lots for casket and cremation burial
- pillow marker lots for cremation burial
- columbaria with low-maintenance, traditional landscaping
Each family estate suite can accommodate 10 to 50 interments with a combination of traditional and columbarium garden cremation burials.
These 6 unique suites fit together to create a visually appealing cluster layout in a cemetery. These clusters can be designed to include a family estate section that has a final resting place for hundreds of loved ones. Partitions or fencing can be incorporated into the cluster plan to show the distinct area of each family estate suite.
Choose from the many styles we can offer to suit your needs. Click on the links below for more information about our integrated family burial/columbarium garden suites. Each design has a unique set of standard features.
What are Some Advantages of Having a Columbarium Garden?
Columbarium gardens are easy to access for routine cemetery operations like openings, closings, installing monuments or columbaria, general site maintenance, and snow removal.
Each suite has enough space for low-maintenance greens like small trees and shrubs, annuals, perennials, or ornamental grasses.
You can also add memorial planters with seasonal displays into some suites—if you have paved courtyard surfaces, this works very well.

How Much Land is Needed for a Columbarium Garden?
You only need 0.15 acres of land for this type of design. This is about the same amount of land needed for 100 to 130 casket lots based on a typical yield per acre.
